FAQ: Multiplayer Closed Alpha for Crysis 3
Crysis Fans,
We’ve been hearing some chatter and questions about the Crysis 3 Closed Alpha. We really want to stress that this is a *closed* Alpha; access to keys is very limited. This Closed Alpha is specifically to stress test the multiplayer component of Crysis 3; for those who were able to obtain a key, below are answers to frequently asked questions:
How do I get a key?
Keys are primarily distributed directly via email by one of our partners inviting you to the closed alpha. In this mail will be detailed information on how to download the client, and the key required for participation in addition to other relevant instructions.
Once I get my key, how do I use it to get into the Closed Alpha?
1) You will need an Origin account and the Origin Client in order to download and participate in the Alpha Trial. If you don’t already have an Origin Account simply go to the Origin website (http://www.origin.com) and register using the link on the top right.
2) Once you have an account download the client from the following website: http://www.origin.com/uk/download - Run the downloaded file and follow the instructions to install the client.
3) Launch the Origin client and log in to your account.
4) Select Redeem Product Code… from the Origin menu.
5) Enter the code below in the Product Code field and click Next.
6) Follow the instructions that appear to complete your code redemption.
7) You can now select the My Games tab within Origin to see the Alpha Trial. From here you can Pre-download and Install the Alpha Trial.
What platforms is the closed Alpha on?
The Closed Alpha is on PC only.
How long will the closed Alpha run?
The Crysis 3 Alpha Trial will start on November 2nd and end on November 9th.
What Languages is the Closed Alpha going to be in?
The Closed Alpha is only in English.
What are the minimum system requirements?

DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM
Dual core CPU
2GB Memory (3GB on Vista)

What if my video card does not support Direct X 11?
You must have a DX11 supported video card in order to participate in the Closed Alpha.
What is the purpose of the Closed Alpha?
The Closed Alpha is being used to test the backbone and services of the multiplayer features. Crysis 3 has many new features that are interconnected and in order to ensure a smooth launch we want to test these services. This is still very early code, with art, code, design and balance all still being worked on for quite some time.
Where do I go if I have a problem running the game?
The Crysis 3 Closed Alpha forum is your first stop. There will be threads for each problems as well as for thoughts and comments, please post in the correct forums. You may find the answer to your problems already posted by someone else in the community or answered by one of the devs. When posting a new problem, please include as much detailed information as possible in order to help us understand the issue and solve it.
Where do I go if I have a comment or question about the game?
Even though this is early code, with tons of outstanding areas of work remaining, all feedback is welcome and the devs will be pouring over the boards to read it. We will have separate threads for bugs, issues and comments on specific areas of the game. This is your chance to feedback before the game is done and live to the world Crysis 3 Closed Alpha forum is the place to go for all posts. Please do NOT post outside this link.
Can I post videos or talk about the game outside of the official closed Alpha message boards?
The short answer is no. By participating in the Closed alpha you agree not to post and screenshots, videos or discuss the game outside the official Crysis 3 Closed Alpha forum.
What state is the game in? How close to final is the code I am looking at?
This is a Closed Alpha which means all areas of the game are still being worked on. Balance and Polish are always the last things that go in when creating a game, so feedback is welcome.
Do my comments about balance or gameplay matter?
Absolutely. We are reading all posts, keep it constructive and keep it civil, but keep it coming!
How do I redeem my code to get a dog tag for the main game?
Upon completing a match in the Closed Alpha, your Origin account will be tagged and credited a special dog tag for the main game when it is released automatically. You must use the same Origin account for the Closed Alpha as you use for the final game in order to collect this bonus dog tag.
